Richmond, Ind. - The Transylvania Field Hockey team began its weekend of nonconference road matches on the campus of Earlham College against the Earlham College Quakers with a 5-0 defeat on Saturday afternoon at Darrell Beane Stadium.
Â
The Pioneers put forward a defensive-minded first quarter, but the Quakers were able to quickly find the back of the goal at the contest's three-minute mark for the eventual go-ahead score.
Libby Bringard, who made her second career start on Saturday, put forth a gallant effort in goal with seven saves in the first quarter as the Pioneers trailed by just a goal heading into the second quarter.
Â
Earlham's momentum increased in the second quarter as the home team garnered three goals in the second period to finish out the half with a 4-0 advantage.
