For their home opener, #2 Transy Women's Basketball defeated Wilmington College 63-46 in the first game of the Pat Deacon Classic. Prior to the game, the Pioneers and coaching staff welcomed back class of 2022 basketball alums Grace Bringard and Grace Shope. Bringard and Shope were presented with their Elite 8 rings by Dr. Juli Fulks and then given the honor of unveiling the Elite 8 banner from their senior year run last season.

In the physical game with Wilmington, the Pioneers took the lead from the start of the game and saw zero lead changes en route to the win.
"This was another strong defensive and rebounding effort. I thought we got solid contributions from many people and will try to build off that tomorrow," said Head Coach Dr. Juli Fulks.
The Pioneers will face the winner of Denison and Maryville tomorrow in the final game of the Pat Deacon Classic.
