Nicholasville, Ky, - The Transylvania men's tennis team hosted the Hanover College Panthers on Saturday at Top Seed Tennis Club to open up conference play in the spring. Fresh off of a trip to Orlando, Florida in which they took on some top competition, the Pioneers look ahead to conference play to close out the season.Â
Senior Nick McNamee led the Pioneers throughout the day against Hanover, first winning #1 doubles alongside Elijah Skaggs, 8-4. Seniors Parker Rowton and Hunter Gregg came up just short in #3 doubles, losing 8-7 in an intense matchup.Â
McNamee kept rolling in #1 singles, winning in three sets, as the only singles match of the day to reach the third round.Â
Jared Wells also won his singles match. The sophomore won in two sets, with scores of 6-2 in both, playing at the #4 spot.Â

Ultimately Transylvania fell to Hanover by a final total score of 6-3. The Pioneers are back at it tomorrow, taking on Berea College at Top Seed Tennis Club with a 12:00 PM scheduled start. They then move forward to several conference matchups throughout April.
