To finish their weekend series in Ohio, the Pioneers faced Oberlin College today for a Sunday afternoon matchup. The game was deadlocked 0-0 through regulation, overtime, and double overtime forcing a penalty shootout. Penalty shootout: a single offensive player is put up against a goalie. The offensive player then has eight seconds to try and score the goal. They can shoot as many times as they want as long as they have possession and as long as it is within the eight seconds.
The Pioneers fell short in the penalty shootout with Oberlin to end the game.
Interim Head Coach Natalie Hernandez said of the game, "We gave it our all today and left it all on the field. We were in control for the majority of the game, unfortunately the result was not in our favor. I am proud of this team's heart and determination!"
