OBERLIN, Ohio. - Transy Field hockey fell in their final match of the weekend. The Pioneers lost in a shootout to the Oberlin Yeowomen 0-1. The loss drops Transy to 0-8 in the North Coast Athletic Conference.
Transy outshot in the Yeowomen in regulation and overtime 18-6 and led in penalty corners 14-6 but couldn't find the back of the cage. Oberlin stopped all 12 shots on goal in the game and stopped all five Transy shootout attempts. It was the second time this season Transy has been in a shootout.
Emily Long led Transy with 5 shots on goal.
Sidney Aldridge and
Maddi Slaughter had 2 shots on goal.
Gracie Bowling,
Sophia Sparks, and
Aubrey Rahiya all had 1 shot on goal.
The loss moves Transy to 2-6 all time vs the Yeowomen.
The Pioneers will hit the road one final time this season this Wednesday in Richmond, Indiana as they face Earlham College at 7:30 PM. They'll conclude their 2023 season at home next Saturday at 12 PM vs Depauw.
