LEXINGTON - No. 1 Transylvania Women's Basketball earned their second win of the season and 35th straight win dating back to last season with a thirty point win over Maryville College. It's the first time in program history the Pioneers have defeated the Scots. With the win, Transy plays Wisconsin-Lutheran tomorrow at 3 PM. The Warriors defeated Alma in the second game of the Pat Deacon Classic.
Transylvania led the entire game.
Kennedi Stacy led the offense with 23 points and added 7 rebounds. Stacy hit five three pointers in a row to score 15Â of Transy's first 21 points. The Pioneers led by 20 points after the first quarter.
Transylvania outscored the Scots 15-13 in the second quarter, and extended the lead to 31 points going into the final quarter. TU would win 72-42 after a dominant home opening performance. They outshot Maryville 43.1% to 29.3%.
Dasia Thornton had her second straight game with 15 points. She finished with 5 rebounds.
Sadie Wurth had 9 points.
Sydney Wright had 8, 6 coming from the three point line.

Samantha Cornelison,
Aubree Littlejohn, and
Amara Flores all scored in the win.
With the win, Transy holds the longest win streak in NCAA DIII and second longest win streak in all of NCAA.
Transy will look to move to 3-0 to start the season and finish 2-0 in the Pat Deacon Classic tomorrow in the 3 PM winner's game versus Wisconsin-Lutheran.
