LEXINGTON - No. 2 Transylvania Women's Basketball took down pre-season nationally ranked Wittenberg University 69-46 this evening behind 18 points from Kennedi Stacy and a 41 point first half performance from the Pioneers. All seventeen Pioneers saw action in the win.

With the 23 point victory, Transylvania moves to 4-0 on the season and extends the longest active win streak in NCAA DIII to 37 games. It's the second time this season the Pioneers have won a game by 20 or more points.

Transylvania shot 53.7% from the floor tonight, their best of the season thus far. The Pioneers were unstoppable in the first half, scoring 21 points in the first quarter and 20 in the second while holding Wittenberg to a season low 3 points in the second quarter. Transylvania went into the half up 41-12 as Kennedi Stacy led all scorers with 16 points.

Wittenberg scored 34 second half points but the strong Transy first half kept the Tigers out of the game with no chance for a comeback.

Sadie Wurth finished the game with 12 points to earn her third game of the season with 10 or more points. She was 2 of 3 from behind the arc tonight and had 4 assists. Laken Ball finished with 11 points and a team high 7 rebounds. Dasia Thornton finished with 8 points in the win. Kennedy Harris was 2-2 from three point range.

Transylvania will begin its conference slate with Defiance on Hall of Fame Day this Saturday. That game is scheduled for 3 PM. The Pioneers will look to stay undefeated this season and undefeated over Defiance, having won every meeting between the two teams.
