Transy Softball returns from Rhodes Invitational on a three-game win streak

On day two of the Rhodes Invitational, the Pioneers swept both Webster and Rhodes to finish the weekend 3-1 with a three game win streak. 

They started the morning with a game against Webster. The Pioneers scored first in the bottom of the first, playing add-on in the fourth, but needed to go the extra inning to inning to take the win with a final score of 3-2. 

  • 1st inning: A. Frazier scored on an error by 3b

  • 4th inning: C. Murray singled, RBI; S. Wulker scored

  • 8th inning: C. Hadlee singled, RBI; A. Frazier scored

In game two, the Pioneers faced off with Rhodes for the second time on the weekend with a similar result. They run-ruled Rhodes again for their second win over the Lynx, 13-3 in five innings after a six run fifth inning. Stella Wulker had a stand out game with two homeruns and six RBI which helped her to earn HCAC Athlete of the Week (hitting).  

  • 1st inning: S. Wulker homered, 3 RBI; A. Schuck scored; E. Hestand scored.

  • 3rd inning: A. Schuck doubled, RBI; E. Hestand scored.

  • 3rd inning: C. Murray doubled, 2 RBI; S. Wulker scored; A. Schuck scored.

  • 4th inning: C. Hadlee singled, RBI; A. Frazier advanced to second; R. Tharp scored.

  • 5th inning: S. Wulker homered, RBI.

  • 5th inning: C. Hadlee singled, 2 RBI; S. Moshos advanced to second; R. Tharp scored; C. Murray scored.

  • 5th inning: E. Hestand singled, RBI; C. Hadlee advanced to third; S. Moshos scored.

  • 5th inning: S. Wulker singled, 2 RBI; A. Schuck advanced to second; K. Mewes scored; C. Hadlee scored.

"Good wins. Still work to do, but we saw some good signs from the team today," said Head Coach Shawn Hendrickson.
