The Transylvania Men's Tennis Team won a hard fought match against Wittenberg yesterday, winning with a final score of 6-3. A notable performance was made by freshman Alejandro Perez Canedo, who won in both his singles and doubles matches.

Gupta/Kaufmann: 8-4 L

Cordrey/Perez: 8-6 W

Skaggs/Wells: 8-5 W

 

Singles:

Gupta: 6-4, 3-6, 6-4 W

Kaufmann: 6-2, 6-0 W

Perez: 4-6, 6-3, 6-0 W

Skaggs: 7-6, 7-6 W

Cordrey: 1-6, 6-4, 0-1 L

MacDonald: 3-6, 2-6 L

 

Head Coach Kevin Calhoun had this to say after the win: 

"This was a team effort against a very tough team. We played hard and fought, and the way we handled adversity was a huge step forward." 
 

The Pioneers will be back in action on Wednesday, February 22nd for their next match against Asbury.
