The Pioneers took on Otterbein in a non-conference midweek contest. The game was
highlighted by five lead changes throughout the course of the night.

Otterbein kicked off the scoring with a run in the top of the 1 st off of Transylvania starter,
Matthew Armstrong. Armstrong rolled a double play to escape a jam and proceeded to cruise over the
next 4 and 1/3 innings; giving time for the offense to make some noise of their own.

The combination of a Trent Pahl single and some savvy baserunning on the backside of a Calvin
Schubert single allowed Pahl to come all the around from first. The Pioneers struck again in the 4 th inning
on an Austin Taylor single and a sacrifice fly from Ezra Yi. Yi provided another big, two out hit in the 6 th to
once again score Taylor from 3 rd .

Otterbein climbed back into the game with three runs off of Pioneer reliever, Griffin Hall in the
top of the 7 th . However, Transy would respond once again with two runs of their own in the bottom of
the frame. The back and forth continued back into Otterbein's favor however, as they responded with
two of their own in the top of the 8 th .

Coach Getsee had this to say after the game:
"We're getting there. We played a better brand of baseball in this game than we did in game 2
on Sunday, which isn't necessarily the easiest thing to do when you're battling the injury bug like we
have been over the course of the last couple weeks. We'll stay the course though and push through this"

The Pioneers were led offensively by Austin Taylor and Calvin Schubert, both had two hits. Taylor tacked
on a triple and Schubert tacked on a pair of stolen bases. Pahl also tacked on a hit, three walks, and
three stolen bases.
