Game 1:
The Pioneers staked starter
Connor Arnold to a five run lead by the end of the 2 nd inning. As
that was more than enough as Arnold cruised through six 1/3 innings.
Trent Youngblood got the scoring started in the bottom of the 1 st as he doubled home Trent
Pahl, who reached base via walk to lead off the game.
Henry Mitcham brought Youngblood across
the plate following a sacrifice bunt from
Calvin Schubert.
The scoring continued into the 2 nd inning as the Pioneers managed to plate three more runs
in the bottom of the frame.
Bryce Dreher led off with a walk, which was followed by
Braden Becker
reaching base on an error by the centerfielder. Pahl walked to load the bases and, once again,
Youngblood delivered with a bases clearing triple down the left field line to move the score to 5-0.
The five run cushion was more than enough for Arnold as he finished his day giving up 3
runs on five hits while striking out six.
Ty Conner and
Kaden Hill tallied the final 10 outs, recording
six of the on strikeouts of Hanover hitters. With the zeroes coming in from the bullpen, the Pioneer
offense was able to drive five more runs across the plate.

Calvin Schubert drove in two runs with a double down the left field line in the 6 th inning

Henry Mitcham worked a bases loaded walk in the 8 th inning.
Game 2:
The Pioneers bats were stifled after the first inning as Hanover's pitcher threw a complete
game to even the series at 1-1. Offensively, the Pioneers were able to tally three runs on five hits.
Offensively, Youngblood led the charge with two hits while Pahl, Youngblood, and
Austin Taylor
each tallied a run.
Jacob Moberly didn't have his best stuff, but was able to battle through four innings. On the
bump however, the bright spot was
Gabe Dillard who pitched the final 4 1/3 innings are managed
to slow Hanover's offense down for enough time to give the Pioneers a chance to get back into the
game.
