FRANKLIN IN- The Transylvania Men's Tennis team was back in action this weekend participating in a team competition, where the Pioneers dominated both Franklin College and Manchester University. The Pioneers played this morning vs Franklin where the Pioneers won 8-1 followed by the afternoon match, defeating Manchester 8-1. 

Against the Grizzlies at Franklin, Transy swept in doubles competition as the paring of Chris Kaufmann and Jacob Jiranek won 8-3 in #1 Doubles. The pairing of Jared Wells and Jordan Cordrey won 8-2 in #2 Doubles, followed up by the paring of Alejandro Perez Canedo and Chase Moreman winning #3 Doubles 8-7. This success would only follow in singles as the Pioneers would go on to win 5 single matches while only dropping 1 match. Click HERE for full results

Against the Manchester Spartans the Pioneers would see much of the same success they saw earlier in the day as they would win this as a team 8-1. Transy swept the Spartans in doubles play where we saw the pairings of Chriss Kaufmann and Jordan Cordrey win #1 Doubles 8-3. The pairing of Chase Moreman and Jared Wells won in #2 Doubles 8-1, finished by a win in #3 Doubles, as Kaden Macdonald and Parker Mayano kept it clean winning 8-2. The single matches that followed were just as successful as before as the Pioneers would win 5 matches and only drop 1 match. Click HERE for results 

After the day, head coach Kevin Calhoun had this to say: "Today was a great first step for our family. We were able to start the conference schedule with two wins and are moving in the right direction."     

Up next for the Pioneers Men's Tennis team is another weekend trip to Kalamazoo Michigan as Transy competes in the ITA Regionals starting September 29th.
