Men's Lacrosse lose on the road to Kenyon College

GAMBIER, Ohio-  The Transylvania Men's Lacrosse team was back in action this weekend, as they traveled to play Kenyon College in their second road game in a row. The Pioneers would be defeated in this game 4-13, moving to 0-2 on the season. 

The Pioneers would start the game with the first blow, scoring with 7:51 in the first quarter. Alex Madson would score unassisted to give the Pioneers the early lead, connecting on one of his two shots on goal. Madson would end the game with 3 ground balls and 2 caused turnovers to go along with his first goal on the season.

Luke Stetter would be the next Pioneers to get on board as he would score in the second quartet with 14:40 on the clock. Stetter would score his first goal of the season with this shot as he would also connect on his one of two shots on goal. The Pioneers would go into the half 2-6.

Luke Hinton would have a great second half scoring both goals for the Pioneers, as these would be the first career goals for Hinton. In the 3rd quarter Hinton scored with 12:33 on the clock unassisted as the first goal of the half. Hinton would score the second in the 4th quarter with 1:55 on the clock, also unassisted.

The Pioneers would out save Kenyon as Ben Pund continued his start in goal, finishing with 8 saves on the day. Pund would face a career high 44 shots, as the Pioneers cleared the ball efficiently at 76%. The face off game today was extremely close, as the Pioneers would win 10 compared to Kenyons 12. Briggs Beck won 6 face off's and Parker Rowland won 4 face offs. Dom Tsourkas led the Pioneers in ground balls with a season high 4, and Camble Rosenbaum had his first career caused turnover, ending the game with 2.

After the game, head coach Logan Otto shared his thoughts:
"Today was a fantastic day to challenge us against one of the top teams in the country. With a lot of young players logging huge minutes, this game will pay off down the road. I am excited for an opportunity to showcase our growth next weekend."

The Pioneers will be back in action this coming weekend, playing Saturday February 17th at 1 PM versus Marietta College.
