Men’s Lacrosse win HCLC Regular Season Championship, defeat Anderson 26-2

Box Score ANDERSON IN- The Transylvania Men's Lacrosse team has traveled to Anderson University where they conclude their regular season. The Pioneers come into this game on a 3 game win streak while remaining undefeated in HCLC play (4-0) after defeating Earlham College 21-2. Today the Pioneers would finish conference play a perfect 5-0 to finish 9-6 on the season after defeating the Anderson Ravens 26-2.

The victory led head coach Logan Otto to say: "Today was a great opportunity to prepare for the HCLC playoffs and play a gritty Anderson team. We had many opportunities to build and learn from each play which will benefit us in the future.."

Today's game was dominated from start to finish as the Pioneers would hold the Ravens scoreless for the first 3 quarters. The Pioneers would hold the Ravens to 11 total shots, a season low for them. Otto would add "...Our balanced scoring and a tenacious ride were a big part of our success today." The Pioneers totaled 21 caused turnovers as Ben Marcum and Malachi Spohn each had 2 caused turnovers as Marcum would add 2 ground balls, while Spohn would add 1 ground ball. The Pioneers would play four goalies again as Pund, Kroll, Wilson, and Farley would all see the field.

Offensively several Pioneers would score in today's match up as the total number of 26 goals would be a season high for Transylvania. Two Pioneers would have 4 goals in today's game as HCLC Offensive Player of the week Kade Kruger would finish the day with 4 goals, 1 assists, and 3 ground balls. Joining him with 4 goals would be Alex Madson who filled out the stat sheet today adding to his goals with 2 assists, 3 caused turnovers and a career high 12 ground balls. 

Three separate Pioneers would score 3 goals as Luke Hinton, Jude Koura, and Tai Stormont would all have the hat trick. Hinton would finish adding 1 assist and 1 caused turnover. Ryan Geisler would be dishing today as he would collect a game leading 3 assists, adding 1 goal and 2 ground balls to his day. The Faceoff X would be successful for the Pioneers today winning 21 to Anderson's 9. Parker Rowland and Briggs Beck would both go 10-13 on the day, while Ryan Stachon would go 1-4 on the day. 

Ahead of the postseason coach Otto said: "We are excited to get to playoffs and push forward to develop into the best version of ourselves"

This win submits the Pioneers as Heartland Collegiate Lacrosse Conference Regular Season Champions as they remained upbeat in conference play this year. With the conclusion of the regular season the Pioneers will now look to the HCLC Tournament which will take place April 24th for the Semi-finals then Championship game April 27th.
