HANOVER, IN- The Transylvania Men's Tennis team is coming out of finals week as they continue HCAC play. Last time out the Pioneers defeated Anderson 8-1, while this week they continued their HCAC dominance with a 7-2 win against Hanover College. The Pioneers were on the road in the first match of the weekend before coming home to defend home court in the first match of the back to back.

In today's match the Pioneers would have a battle, winning 2 of the 3 Doubles matches on the day. #1 Doubles would be dropped by the Pioneers in a close 6-8 loss. Turning it around with a victory in both #2 and #3 Doubles. In #2 Doubles Eli Skaggs and Chase Moreman would win a narrow 8-7 match, then a #3 Doubles match as Jared Wells and Jacob Jiranek would win 1-0. 

Moving to Singles the Pioneers would have to battle for their match victories as #1 Singles would be won decisively by Chris Kaufmann 6-1, 6-4. In #2 Singles Arjuin Gupta would win a tight match winning the first set 6-3, losing the second set 6-7, then winning the deciding set 1-0.

Moving to #4 Singles as Alejandro Perez Canedo would win the match 6-1, 6-2 and #5 Singles would be won by Chase Moreman 6-1, 6-4. Finalizing Singles with a #6 Singles win as Jacob Jiranek 6-2 in the first set, dropping the second 4-6 then winning the decider 1-0. 

The Pioneers complete the weekend back to back as they defend home court against Earlham College tomorrow at Top Seed Tennis Club at 1PM.
