The defensive effort was just as impressive for Amy Barmore, Head Coach of the Pioneers, who was proud of her team for taking the victory after the quick turnaround from night one's battle with Centre College.Â
"I'm very proud of how we bounced back this morning after a tough loss last night," said Barmore. It was a team effort for us against Illinois College, but we came out very disciplined. We hit .352 as a team and did a very nice job defensively, holding them to .147."
Up next for the Pioneers is their final match of the 2024 Transy Invitational against Covenant College at 4 p.m. at the Clive M. Beck Center.Â
