LEXINGTON, KY - Transylvania advanced in the 2025 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Tournament, defeating Earlham in the quarterfinals at Pat Deacon Stadium on Saturday.Â
Carrie Stevens saved Earlham's first two shot attempts on Transylvania, deflecting shots from Mallory Smith and Tessa Petty. Transylvania would score their first goal at the 23:47 mark as
Olivia Thomas connected on her first shot of the afternoon.
Mackenzie Wallace found a scoring opportunity in the 34th minute for the Pioneers, but it would be saved by Earlham's Liz Godfrey. Stevens would save another goal for the Pioneers in the 36th minute, giving her three saves in the first half.Â
Eva Blanke scored for the Pioneers in the 60th minute to give Transylvania a 2-0 lead they would not relinquish. Earlham would not record another shot attempt in the second half, Transylvania's
Carrie Stevens recorded three saves in a full 90:00 in the goal for the Pioneers.Â
Transylvania advances to ttravel and ake on the Fighting Engineers of Rose-Hulman on Tuesday, November 4th at 7:00 p.m.
