LEXINGTON, KY - The Transylvania Women's Lacrosse team hosted out of conference opponent, Oberlin College, Saturday morning. The Pioneers fought hard and showed determination, but fell short losing 20-10. 

Sofie Garrett started the scoring for the Pioneers just a minute and fifteen seconds into the game. Oberlin would go on to score their first goal of the game a minute later. After a run by Oberlin, the Pioneers would be down 9-1 after the first quarter. Oberlin came out hot after the two minute break and scored 54 seconds in. Lula Thompson would find Diana Bruder who would find the back of the net at the 13:35 mark. Oberlin's attack continued, as they went on a three goal run. Kiana Murawski would halt Oberlin's run and score with eight minutes remaining in the first half. With three minutes left, Murawski found Avery Kirkhope whose shot would hit the back of the net. Just a minute later, Bruder would score her second of the half, making Oberlin's lead 15-6 at the break. 

The Pioneers continued their scoring ways in the third quarter with Garrett scoring her second of the game. Oberlin would respond scoring two goals, despite Transylvania's persistent offense. Both teams exchanged goals in the opening minutes of the fourth quarter. Lula Thompson assisted by Sofie Garrett, would score her first goal of the game on a man-up possession. Just under ten minutes, Bruder scored consecutive goals; which would complete the scoring for the Pioneers. 

Head Coach Brianna McCulley stated "Another really tough battle today in the rain, and I'm just really proud of my team's ability to keep fighting. We may be a smaller team but we play with a lot of heart and we play together.".

Transylvania is looking forward to their next match up next Saturday against Otterbein University in Westerville, OH. The game is scheduled for 5:00 PM and can be found on transysports.com.
