DANVILLE, KY - Transylvania Women's Tennis fell short to Centre College on Saturday, losing to the Colonels 6-1.Â

Katherine Taylor defeated Centre's Grace Williams and Kennedy Herring, 6-4.

Paulina Razo-Zapata and
Lilly Hartman were defeated by Centre's Kayla Harger and Natalie Black, 6-1.

Maddy Williams defeated Centre's Skylar Keesee and Allison Gossett.

Paulina Razo-Zapata 7-5 in set one, 6-3 in set two.Â

Maria Hayes 6-1 in both sets.Â
4. Centre's Kayla Harger defeated
Ellie Held 6-2 in set one, Held defeated Harger 6-4 in set two. Harger defeated Held in the tie-break.Â

Maddy Williams 6-3 in both sets.
6. Centre's Sara Dunn defeated
Eva Clark 6-2 in set one, 6-4 in set two.Â

Bill Carey was proud of his team's growth and performance in a competitive afternoon match up.Â
"The loss at Centre stings but pleased with their development on so many fronts," said Head Coach
Bill Carey. "The doubles were excellent and there were flashes throughout singles, we are working on sustaining those. Shouts to
Ellie Held who, although she ended up losing in the tiebreak, continues to impress with her talent, athleticism and drive on and off the court. We are happy to share this two sport star with women's soccer."
Transylvania returns to the court on Saturday, March 1st at Wittenberg.Â
