LEXINGTON, KY- Transylvania took on Anderson in a rare Friday night Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) showdown at the Clive M. Beck Center, defeating the Ravens 74-55.

Transylvania had three players score in double figures with Riley Flinn leading the Pioneers with 20 points and 10 rebounds. Sierra Kemelgor posted a 19 point, seven rebound and four steal performance, while Makya Grinter recorded 17 points, four rebounds and two timely steals.

Transylvania took the early 6-0 lead into the first timeout of the game. The Pioneers were leading 13-4 with less than three minutes left in the quarter. At the end of the first quarter, the Pioneers held the 18-6 edge over the visiting Lady Ravens. Sierra Kemelgor was the leading scorer for the Pioneers in the first quarter with six points.

The Pioneers led by as many as twelve in the second quarter, but the Ravens would rally with a rally, cutting the deficit to three with just over two minutes remaining. With the shot clock expiring, Sierra Kemelgor knocked in a three-pointer that beat the buzzer. On the next possession, she scored another three-pointer that put the Pioneers back up nine. The final possession of the first half saw Riley Flinn drive to the basket to push the lead back to double digits at the halftime break, 32-21.

A fast break lay-up from Kemelgor and a three-pointer from Raegan Barrett started the second half action for the Pioneers, but Anderson would continue to interrupt the Transylvania momentum, chipping away at the lead. The Pioneers would find their spark once again late in the third quarter as Makya Grinter stole the ball and drove to the basket with three minutes remaining in the quarter to extend the lead back to 12 for Transylvania.

Transylvania would pull away in the fourth quarter, including two three-pointers in the final four minutes from Flinn, she knocked down five three-pointers on the evening. Grinter drove to the basket on another fast break to extend the advantage to 18, with the Transylvania taking the victory after a final three-pointer from Brooklyn White, 74-55.
