SPRINGFIELD, OHIO -  

Transylvania traveled to Springfield, Ohio on Saturday to compete in the Steemer Showcase, hosted by Wittenberg University. One of the largest indoor meets in the region, the showcase featured deep competition that produced numerous personal bests and a pair of school records for the Pioneers.

Ella Detjen highlighted the day by breaking the school record in the 3000m by more than 30 seconds, running 10:19.84 in her first-ever collegiate or high school 3000m race. Kaycee Moore reclaimed her school record in the mile, running 5:22.72 to improve her personal best by four seconds and edge out Detjen's mark from last weekend.

In the field events, Hayden Scott continued his strong season with another personal best in the shot put, throwing 12.57 for his third consecutive week with a new PB.

On the track, Xander Harris won his heat in the 800m for the second straight week, posting an indoor personal best of 1:59.32. The men's 4x400m relay (Markieus Hill, Harris, Nate Rogers, Trevor Bush) closed the meet on a high note, with freshman Trevor Bush splitting 50.2 on the anchor leg to move the Pioneers from fourth to first in their heat. The group finished in 3:35.66, the third-fastest time in Transylvania men's indoor track history.

Head Coach Matt Andrews reflected on the meet, saying, "We had some highs and lows throughout the day, which is how track and field goes! We have some time now to reset a bit and get some great training with no meet on the schedule next weekend. Very excited to see how our group continues to progress as we keep stacking days."

The Pioneers return to action in two weeks at the Centre Indoor Invitational, hosted by Centre College in Danville, Kentucky.
