FRANKLIN, IN — Transylvania secured an important HCAC road victory on Wednesday night, defeating Franklin College 83–68 inside the Spurlock Center.
Luke Idlett and Hunter Barr paced the Pioneers with 23 points each. Idlett knocked down six three-pointers, finishing 6-of-10 from beyond the arc, while Barr was highly efficient inside, shooting 10-of-13 from the field and adding six rebounds and four blocks. Cayden Lancaster provided a strong lift off the bench with 14 points, and Ian Reesor contributed eight points and four rebounds.
Transylvania shot 53.6 percent from the field and 44.4 percent from three-point range, building a 40–34 halftime lead. The Pioneers created separation midway through the second half, stretching the margin to as many as 24 points following a three-pointer from Lancaster and strong inside play from Barr.
The Pioneers finished with 36 points in the paint and 18 fast-break points while holding Franklin to 43.9 percent shooting overall. Transylvania also recorded 15 assists and forced 17 Franklin turnovers in the win.
With the victory, Transylvania improves to 15–8 overall and 12–4 in HCAC play.
The Pioneers return to action on Saturday as they continue conference play against Mount St. Joseph. Tip-off is set for 3 PM in Cincinnati, OH.
