CARMEL, Ind. – The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) men's basketball teams competed in week 13 of the 2025-26 season.
Athlete of the Week:
Hunter Barr (Hardinsburg, Ky.) Transylvania University | Forward | Junior -
Hunter Barr recorded 15 points, five rebounds and four assists in a 91-77 win over Berea, shooting 60% from the field in the victory. He then led the Pioneers to a 75-61 win over Bluffton Saturday with one of his best performances of the season - 25 points, 11 rebounds and three blocks - shooting an impressive 6/8 from the field and 12/16 from the free throw line.
Notable Performances:
- Bryce Williams (Fishers, Ind.) Anderson University | Guard | Junior - Bryce Williams averaged 17.5 points and 4.5 assists as Anderson went 2-0 on the week. He dropped 22 points on the road against Manchester. In Saturday's big road win against Rose-Hulman, Williams produced 13 points, seven assists, and three steals.
- Bryce Riley (Bardstown, Ky.) Berea College | Guard | Senior - Bryce Riley continued his strong play by scoring 23 points against Transylvania, going a perfect 9-for-9 from the free-throw line. He followed that performance with a dominant 16-point, 10-rebound double-double in a key conference victory over Franklin on Senior Day. Riley recently became just the 18th player in Berea College men's basketball history to record 1000 career points and 500 rebounds.
- WIlliam Layfield (West Chester, Ohio) Bluffton University | Guard | Senior - William Layfield averaged 16.0 points and 7.0 rebounds in a pair of HCAC losses for Bluffton. He hit 10-of-20 from the field and 12-of-16 at the line. Layfield finished the week with four assists and three steals.
- Donovan Pruitt (Indianapolis, Ind.) Earlham College | Guard | Junior - Donovan Pruitt led Earlham this week as the Quakers picked up their first HCAC win of the season. Pruitt scored a team-high 27 points on the week with three rebounds, five assists, one block, and one steal.
- Jeremiah Alexander (Indianapolis, Ind.) Hanover College | Guard | Sophomore - Jeremiah Alexander led Hanover to a 1-1 week, including a double overtime thriller with Rose-Hulman. He finished the week averaging 20.5 points per game, shooting an outstanding 57.7 percent from the floor. He also added eight made three-pointers.
- Ty Lynas (Crawfordsville, Ind.) Manchester University | Guard | Graduate - Ty Lynas continued to lead Manchester offensively last week, delivering strong performances in back-to-back conference contests. In Wednesday night's loss to Anderson, he poured in 22 points, while adding eight rebounds and two steals. Lynas followed that effort with another productive outing on Saturday at Hanover, scoring 19 points to go along with five rebounds and two assists.
- Mathew Menninger (Cincinnati, Ohio) Mount St. Joseph University | Forward | Senior - Matthew Menninger led Mount St. Joseph to a 2-0 week and helped the Lions remain tied atop the HCAC standings. For the week he averaged 15.5 points and 8.5 rebounds per game.
- Daniel Savovic (Everett, Wash.) Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology | Guard | Junior - Daniel Savovic helped the Rose-Hulman go 1-1 in HCAC play this week. Savovic played all 50 minutes in the double overtime victory over Hanover. He totaled 18 points, five rebounds, and four assists. In the loss to Anderson, Savovic led the team with 22 points and totaled four rebounds and three assists. On the week, he averaged 20.0 points and 4.5 rebounds per game.
