LEXINGTON, KY – Transylvania defeated Hanover, 25–6, at Pat Deacon Stadium.
The Pioneers were led by Charlie Horner and Andrew Welch, who each scored a game-high five goals. Transylvania finished with 61 shots, including 41 on goal, along with seven saves and nine turnovers. The Pioneers also posted 17 clears and collected 25 ground balls.
Transylvania got on the board quickly with a goal from Andrew Welch. Huck Campbell added the Pioneers' second goal minutes later to make it 2–0. The hot start continued with a goal by Jaxon Eldridge. After Hanover got on the scoreboard, Transylvania responded with a goal from Sam Archer. Campbell scored his second goal to increase the Pioneers' lead to 5–1. The Pioneers kept rolling with a goal by Maverick Shultz, and a late goal from Ben Gaccino gave Transylvania a 7–1 lead at the end of the first quarter.
Aven Blair opened the scoring in the second quarter for the Pioneers. Hanover responded with their second goal to cut the lead to six. Welch extended the lead with his second goal, and Horner added two goals to keep the Pioneers in control. A goal from Andrew Mazy gave Transylvania a 12–3 lead with five minutes remaining in the half. The Pioneers added two more goals to take a 14–3 lead into halftime.
Hanover scored first in the second half, but Transylvania answered with a goal from Josh Harney to make it 15–4. Campbell recorded his third goal to push the lead to 16–5. The Pioneers continued their dominant play as Welch scored his third goal to make it 17–5. A late goal from Alex Vennari gave Transylvania an 18–6 lead at the end of the third quarter.
Welch opened the fourth quarter scoring with a quick goal. Jack Miller and Horner followed with back-to-back goals to make it 21–6. The Pioneers added four more goals to secure the 25–6 victory.
With the win, Transylvania improves to 9–4. This marked the final home game of the season, with postseason news expected soon. The 2026 HCLC Tournament will take place on Saturday, April 25th at Spalding for the semifinals, and April 26th at Pat Deacon Stadium for the Championship.
