RICHMOND, KY – The Transylvania men's golf team continued its strong play at the HCAC Championship on Saturday at Boone's Trace National Golf Club – The Bull, maintaining its position atop the team leaderboard heading into the final round.

Freshman Andy Steed (Wilmington, OH) backed up his opening-round lead with another impressive performance, firing a 69 (-3) in Round Two to remain tied for first overall at 141 (-3). Steed turned in the low round of the day, highlighted by a scorching 33 on the back nine that featured four birdies, keeping him firmly in control of the individual race entering Sunday.

The Pioneers saw a major lift from Ty Ruttinger, who rebounded in a big way with a 70 (-2) after Friday's opening round. Ruttinger caught fire early with a 33 on the front nine and now sits tied for eighth overall at 152 (+8).

William Carr continued his steady play near the top of the leaderboard, posting an even-par 72 to sit in third place individually at 145 (+1). Tom Buchert followed with a 73 (+1) and is currently tied for fourth at 146 (+2), giving Transylvania four players inside the top 10 through two rounds.

Connor Calhoun rounded out the lineup and will look to climb the leaderboard in Sunday's final round.

With Steed tied atop the individual standings and the Pioneers holding the team lead, Transylvania is in prime position as it looks to capture the HCAC Championship on Sunday.
