LOUISVILLE, KY - This Saturday, the Pioneers traveled to Tom Sawyer Park in Louisville, Kentucky to compete in the Great Lakes Regional Championship. On the women's side, they had a solid day, placing 21st as a team. This finish is the highest in program history in the region meet. Individually, Freshman Ella Detjen had a great race, finishing 11th overall and running a personal best of 22:29.64 over 6000m. This also earns her All-Region, which makes her the first person in Transy XC history to achieve this. This also puts Ella in a great position to receive a bid to the NCAA Championships which are next Saturday, November 22, in South Carolina.

On the men's side, Nate Rogers, George Thacker, and Jonah Whitehead all finished their season well with a season best.

Coach Matt Andrews had some thoughts about how this team finished out the season, saying "Bit of a mixed bag from our squad today but proud of the effort they put forth as a group. Very excited about a huge program first, with Ella earning our first cross country All-Region honor and quite possibly our first NCAA berth as well."

The selection for the NCAA championships is tomorrow at 3pm, which will determine team and individual at large selection. You can catch the Pioneers racing next during indoor track  at the first meet of the season on January 17th, where they will travel to Mount St. Joseph University.
