NORMAN, OKLA - The Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars for NCAA Division III were announced this week. To be eligible for the nomination, a student-athlete must be a sophomore, junior or senior both academically and athletically while participating in 50% of their team's competitive rounds. They must have a stroke average under 79.0 and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of a 3.2. The student-athlete must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at their college or university.

In this year's honorees, 202 NCAA Division III athletes from 78 institutions were recognized. Tom Buchert of Transylvania University was recognized with the honor. It is the second consecutive season Buchert has been named a Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar.

"Tom Buchert exemplifies what it means to be a student-athlete," said Head Coach Brian Lane.  "He's a terrific leader for our team, and his commitment to excellence—both in the classroom and on the course—is truly impressive. This recognition as an All-American Scholar is well deserved, and we couldn't be more proud of him."

Buchert adds the Cobalt All-America Scholar distinction to a season that saw him earn Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Player of the Year and All-Conference honors.
