ATLANTA, Ga. - Transylvania spotted home-standing Emory a 6-0 first inning lead Saturday and the Pioneers went on to fall by an 8-0 count in five innings in collegiate softball action at the Emory Invitational.
Transy is 1-3-1 on the year while Emory is 13-1.

Michelle Ladanyi had the Pioneers' only hit, a two out single up the middle in the fourth.
Kaitlyn Foree (1-1) took the loss, allowing 11 hits and eight runs, five earned, with one strikeout and one walk. She gave up six of the hits and six runs in the first, an inning that also saw a pair of Pioneer errors.
Emory's Amanda Kardys got the win with a five-inning shutout. She had three strikeouts and no walks. The home team finished with 11 hits.
Transy is back in action on Sunday when it continues play in the Emory Invitational. The Pioneers face Huntingdon and Emory, beginning at 12 p.m.
