LAGRANGE, Ga. - Transylvania stayed perfect in its inaugural women's lacrosse season, taking a 15-5 win over LaGrange Monday.
The Pioneers under coach Haley Marvine are 3-0 while LaGrange falls to 2-4.
"This was the best we've played this year," she said. "It was a huge win for us as a program to come out and beat a veteran team by 10. I could not be more proud of our team."
Transy grabbed an early lead, scoring the first eight goals of the contest.
Aubrey Bausum had the first goal and four of the initial eight. She would finish the game with nine scores.
Kayla Thurlow and
Sky Spraker eached connected for two goals and
Rachel Harrison and
Lucy Meredith had one score each. Spraker added an assist.
Transy led 9-1 at halftime, then outscored the home team 6-4 over the final 30 minutes.
The Pioneers outshot LaGrange 20-7 in a dominating first half and finished the game with a 39-21 edge. Transy led in ground balls, 33-28, and forced 27 turnovers.

The Pioneers continue their spring break trip through the south on Tuesday, facing Piedmont at 3 p.m.
