LEXINGTON, Ky.- Transylvania dropped a close 18-16 contest to Huntingdon College Friday in women's lacrosse action at Thomas Field.
The loss moves the Pioneers back to 3-5 on the season and moves Huntingdon to 8-6 in their final contest of the year.
The Pioneers came up just short in the back and forth battle with the Hawks. Leading the charge for Transy was
Aubrey Bausum, who netted six scores, while
Rachel Harrison found the back of the net on four different occasions. Also scoring three goals apiece were
Sky Spraker and
Lucy Meredith.
Lydia Shaughnessy was credited with 18 saves in the contest, including 10 second half stops.
Hutingdon outshot the Pioneers by a total of 45-40 and each team picked up 39 ground balls.
The Pioneers will be back in action on Saturday, April 13, when they hose Concordia University at 3 p.m. at Thomas Field.
