HILTON HEAD, SCâ€"Six Pioneers scored in a 16-11 victory over Becker College on Monday, earning the Transylvania University women's lacrosse team its first win of the season Monday.
"I'm so proud of how confident the team played today, we came out and took one from a very good Becker team," Head Coach Haley Marvine said.
Freshman
Natalie Hendrix led the offensive attack scoring seven points on the day recording four goals and three assists, while sophomore
Rachel Harrison added five goals and one assist in the win.

Natalie Hendrix had a breakout game, leading our team in points," Marvine said. "
Rachel Harrison is such a leader for us and fought hard to keep the possession with the Pioneers."
Sophomore
Jessica Bier helped lead the charge for the Pioneers, scoring three goals.
Taylor Bussell,
Sky Spraker and
Lucy Meredith also scored for the Pioneers.
In addition to the array of scorers, midfielder
Molly Kruse had a huge day as well.
"
Molly Kruse was the difference in the game for us today," Marvine said. "She was all over the field and involved in every play."
Pioneer goalkeeper
Lydia Shaughnessy logged 12 saves for the Pioneers and is continually improving, said Marvine.
"It's not every day, in lacrosse, that you see a team from Kentucky come out and beat a Northeastern school," Marvine said. "Today was a huge step forward for our program."
The Pioneers (1-1) face off against North Carolina Wesleyan on Thursday. The game is set for 3 p.m.
