LEXINGTON, Ky. â€"The Pioneers cruised to a 20-6 win over Wilmington College Saturday, recording their first victory at the newly-named Pat Deacon Stadium.

Ian Strong,
Andrew Meyer and
Zack Riggs all netted three each in the win.
Ben Erwin recorded two goals, while
Zach Roby,
Ben Rogers,
Cooper Sohm and
Evan Wright also scored for the Pioneers.
Transylvania dominated the Quakers once the Pioneer offense got going. The Pioneers exploded to a 7-0 lead and finished the contest in similar fashion, scoring six unanswered.
"I'm really proud of our team," Head Coach
Terry Justice said. "This was an all-around team effort today."
Despite not scoring the first ten minutes of the game, the Pioneer offense fired four straight goals in the closing five minutes and change of the first half, but the Pioneers were nowhere near finished. The offense added three more goals in the first three minutes of the second quarter, taking a 7-0 lead.
Sohm's goal with nearly ten minutes gone in the first quarter was all the Pioneers needed to find their rhythm. Within four minutes of Sohm's goal, Watts, Meyer and Riggs all scored to put the Pioneers out front, 4-0.
Rogers added to the lead just 42 seconds into the second quarter. Strong and Roby both followed with scores, giving the Pioneers a commanding 7-0 lead.
Wilmington stopped the assault, momentarily, with a man-up goal from Alexander Gossard, narrowly closing the Pioneer lead to 7-1. The Pioneers converted on 5-of-7 man-ups on the day, while holding the Quakers to a mere 2-for-8.
"We made a little tweak with our man-ups," Justice said. "There were a few small things we needed to correct."
Watts answered with his second score of the day with 4:52 left before the break, giving the Pioneers an 8-1 advantage heading into the locker room.
The Quakers seemed to have made adjustments during the break, as they put together a quick scoring position just five seconds into the second half. A man-up goal by Evan Osborne, stemming from a delay of game penalty on the Pioneers to start the half, gave the Pioneers an 8-2 lead.
Transylvania wasted no time, as Riggs added his second goal of the day to add to the Pioneers' lead. Meyer followed with a goal at the 11:52 mark in the third, as Transylvania outscored the Quakers 10-4 from that point, ending Wilmington's four-game winning streak.
"Our defense was solid and Ian had a big day today for us with his three goals off the bench." Justice said.
The Pioneers host Hanover College Wednesday at Pat Deacon Stadium for the first matchup in a men's and women's double-header. Game time is set for 4 p.m. with the women's game to immediately follow.
