LEXINGTON, KY - Brianna McCulley has been named Head Coach of the Women's Lacrosse program at Transylvania University.

"We're excited to welcome Bri back to Transylvania, one of the top athletes in the history of the program," said Jeff Chaney, Acting Vice President of Athletics. "We really think she is going to do a fantastic job of maintaining our standard of excellence that we have established and take our program to new heights."

A native of Milford, Ohio, McCulley graduated from Transylvania with a Bachelor of Arts in Health and Exercise Science, along with minors in Psychology and Spanish. In her playing career as a Team Captain at Transylvania, she tallied 137 goals, 42 assists, 133 ground balls, 59 draw controls, and 59 caused turnovers. She earned several accolades, including Second Team All-Conference, HCLC First Team All-Conference, and IWLCA Academic Honor Roll. McCulley also received Defensive Player of the Week honors and was known for her leadership.

"I am beyond excited to lead a program that holds such a special place in my heart," said McCulley. "Having been a part of Transylvania Women's Lacrosse as a player, I'm thrilled to now have the opportunity to lead the team, as the Head Coach, and continue building on its success. I look forward to supporting our athletes, connecting with the community, and re-engaging with our amazing Alumni–many of which are my fellow teammates. Together, we can bring even more energy and excitement to the program and continue to elevate Transylvania Women's Lacrosse."

Following her time at Transylvania, McCulley pursued a Master of Arts in Teaching, with a focus on Health and Physical Education, from the University of the Cumberlands. She has worked as a Health and Physical Education teacher at RISE Stem Academy for Girls and at the School of the Creative and Performing Arts (SCAPA), where she developed curricula that emphasized fitness, wellness, and personal growth for her elementary and middle school students. McCulley has also coached at both the high school and collegiate levels, including serving as a Volunteer Assistant Coach at Transylvania and as the Head Coach for Henry Clay High School.

Transylvania Women's Lacrosse begins their season on Saturday, February 8th against Capital at Pat Deacon Stadium.
