RICHMOND, IN - Transylvania fell to Earlham in a road Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) match up on Saturday in Richmond.Â
After falling in the first two sets, Transylvania rallied back in set three with a 25-19 set victory. The Pioneers closed set three on a run with a kill from
Lilly Kaiser and three consecutive kills from
Isabella Myers, all assisted by
Macy Lentz. Transylvania would repeat set three with another 25-19 victory in set four to force the fifth and deciding set. Trailing 13-9, Transylvania rallied with two consecutive kills from
Addison Jarvis to cut the lead to 13-12, but Earlham would respond with two consecutive points of their own to close the set 15-12 and take the victory 3-2.Â
Three Pioneers had career high performances Saturday, as
Macy Lentz recorded 58 assists, it is her third 50 assist game of the last four for the Pioneers.
Lilly Kaiser reached a career high 16 kills in the effort, and
Julia Brown added 25 digs, a new milestone.
Transylvania returns to action at the Clive M. Beck Center on Saturday, October 18th, as they host the Transy Invite. The Pioneers will take on HCAC opponent Manchester at 1:00 p.m. and DePauw University at 5:00 p.m. Manchester will also take on DePauw at the Beck Center at 3:00 p.m.
