LEXINGTON, KY - The Transylvania Pioneers faced off against in conference opponent, Berea, on Wednesday night. The Pioneers continued their offensive momentum from the last two conference wins, to beat the Mountaineers 1-0.
Transylvania began the match with a corner in the opening five minutes. Four Pioneers strung together a series of shots in the following minutes. Transylvania's offense continued in the 20th minute, with

Jackson Holt, kept the Pioneers up one with a save in the 25th minute. Transylvania continued to apply pressure in the offensive third as the opening half came to a close.Â
The Pioneers started the second half the same way as the first with a series of shots on goal. The second half became more competitive, that saw two yellow cards being assessed. Transylvania maintained composure throughout the duration of the 45 minutes to walk away with three points.Â
Ben Federici stated post game, "I'm always happy with 3 points. Credit to Berea for causing our offense some problems. Their keeper made some big saves and I thought their backline did a good job of knocking us out of our rhythm.". When asked about the team's defensive performance Federici said, "At times this year our offense has carried us and I was really happy to see our defensive unit return the favor and keep the clean sheet. Job well done, now we move on to Earlham on Saturday.".
Transylvania is looking to carry their momentum into their next fixture on Saturday afternoon. The Pioneers face off against Earlham College at 3:30 PM in Richmond, IN. Live Stats and Video will be available on transysports.com.
