LEXINGTON, KY - Transylvania defeated Spalding at the Clive M. Beck Center on Wednesday, 3-0, to earn their third consecutive victory.Â
Transylvania won the opening set 25-7, utilizing a sequence of nine consecutive points to take a 17-4 advantage early. A kill from
Cecelia Roberts closed the opening set. The Pioneers would carry their efforts into the second set, with another impressive run of 10 consecutive points to take a 12-1 lead. Transylvania won set two 25-8. Set three proved to be a competitive exchange before the Pioneers closed the set with a kill from
Addie Atcher and an ace from
Morgan Crawford as Transylvania finished with five consecutive points, earning the 25-16 win.Â
Addie Atcher led the Pioneers with 12 kills, followed by 10 from
Isabella Myers and four from
Peyton Mast.
Macy Lentz led Transylvania in assists (23) and digs (13).
Julia Brown recorded 12 digs and
Alex O'Connor added eight.Â
Prior to the game,
Isabella Myers was recognized for her recent career milestone of 1,000 career kills.Â
Transylvania returns to action on Saturday, traveling to Earlham for another HCAC match up at 2:00 p.m.
