LEXINGTON, KY - The Transylvania Pioneers faced off against Baldwin Wallace on Saturday afternoon. Transylvania celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month and recognized a number of athletes before kick off. The Pioneers closed out a competitive match, winning 2-1.Â
Baldwin Wallace started off the first half quick, with a shot blocked in the opening three minutes. Transylvania's offense followed with two corner kicks resulting in a Gio Chavez shot. Nathan White found the back of the net in the 16th minute after a pass from Nick Haskins to put the Pioneers up 1-0. Baldwin Wallace found the equalizer in the 34th minute. Three minutes later, a series of Transylvania shots by Stone Work and JT Roden resulted in a Pioneer corner kick. Parker Touma was assessed a yellow card in the 43rd minute.Â
In the 52nd minute, Gus Dickman got Transylvania's offense started with a shot wide right. Baldwin Wallace's Breydon Beggs, was assessed a yellow card in the 57th. Just a minute later, Nathan White scored his second goal of the afternoon with the assist from Gus Dickman. Nathan White was assessed a yellow card in the 61st minute. Transylvania's offense continued to press with a number of shots coming in the following minutes. A save by Ethan Drew in the closing minutes kept Transylvania up one.Â
Transylvania is traveling to Springfield, OH on Tuesday to face off against Wittenberg University. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 PM. Live Stats and Video will be available on Transysports.com.Â
