ADA, OHIO - Transylvania Volleyball traveled to Ada for match ups with Otterbein and Ohio Northern.Â
Game One: Otterbein 3, Transylvania 0Â
Transylvania battled Otterbein closely in the first two sets (25-19, 25-21), but fell 25-15 in set three. Otterbein extended a 13-10 advantage in set three with six consecutive points to build on the lead.
Lilly Kaiser and
Addie Atcher recorded kills late in the set, but Otterbein would close the third set with a kill from Chandler Crowell.Â
Isabella Myers led the Pioneers with 11 kills, followed by Atcher with seven and Kaiser with five. Lentz continued to lead Transylvania with 29 assists,
Kennedy Beatty led the team in digs with 11.Â
Game Two: Transylvania 3, Ohio Northern 1
After falling to Ohio Northern 25-23 in the opening set, Transylvania rallied with three straight set wins to claim a 3-1 overall victory. Transylvania's offense was strongly on display in set two. With the Pioneers leading 20-14,
Peyton Mast scored three kills while
Alex O'Connor recorded an ace to put the set away, 25-17. In set three,
Macy Lentz's kill gave the Pioneers a 10-5 lead. After a rally from ONU,
Cecelia Roberts and
Addie Atcher recorded kills to start another Pioneer run. Transylvania ended set three on an 8-2 run with two kills from Atcher, two from
Lilly Kaiser and one from
Isabella Myers. Transylvania claimed set three 25-17. In set four, Transylvania rallied to victory with a 9-3 run to take an 18-13 advantage. ONU led 22-21 before two kills from Kaiser and a final ace from O'Connor sealed the victory for the Pioneers, 25-23 and 3-1.Â
Myers led the Pioneers in kills with 15, followed by 13 from Mast and 11 from Kaiser.
Macy Lentz recorded a season high 50 assists in the victory, a career best at Transylvania for Lentz. Lentz also led the Pioneers with 17 digs, while Myers and
Julia Brown each recorded 15.
