LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, GA - Transylvania improved to 3-2 on the season with a 3-0 road victory over Covenant on Friday.Â
The Pioneers utilized a strong run in the first set, going on a run that saw them take a 13-11 deficit to a 22-15 lead. The run featured three aces from
Macy Lentz, two kills from
Addie Atcher and a kill from
Lilly Kaiser. Myers closed the first set with a kill for the 25-21 win.Â
In the second set, the Pioneers took a a 15-6 advantage that they'd never relinquish. Roberts and Kaiser closed the set with consecutive kills for the 25-19 set victory.Â
Transylvania opened the third set with kills from Myers and Roberts, taking an early 4-0 lead. Covenant battled back to cut the deficit to 13-10, but the Pioneers rallied with a 5-0 run to extend their lead. They closed the set with a 6-1 run featuring kills from Atcher and Kaiser, they finished the set with a 25-16 win.Â
Isabella Myers led the Pioneers with 10 kills in the victory, followed by seven from
Cecelia Roberts and six from
Addie Atcher.Â
Macy Lentz led Transylvania with 27 assists, while
Julia Brown recorded 18 digs.
Lilly Kaiser had a strong performance, recording 3 blocks in the win.Â
Transylvania returns to action on Saturday on the road, taking on Sewanee at 1:30 and LeTourneau at 4:30.Â
