RICHMOND, IN - Transylvania Women's Basketball earned their third straight Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) win on Wednesday, as they defeated Earlham 67-56 in Richmond.Â
Transylvania started with a 13-0 run to start the first quarter, a sequence that saw a three-pointer from
Riley Flinn, a fast break lay up from
Keaton Hall, another three from Flinn, a tip-in from
Chloe McKnight and a three-pointer from
Mackenzie Lombardi. Transylvania would continue their strong shooting from beyond the arc as Flinn would score her third three-pointer of the quarter, and
Raegan Barrett would score from long range as the Pioneers ended the opening quarter with a 16 point lead. Transylvania would continue to build their advantage in the second quarter as McKnight opened with back to back baskets, followed by a three-pointer from
Nicole Mears. Back to back baskets from
Sierra Kemelgor pushed the Pioneers lead to 27, the largest of the first half, a lead they would carry into the halftime break.Â
Raegan Barrett opened the second half with another three-pointer to continue the strong shooting performance for the Pioneers. Barrett, Flinn, McKnight and
Makya Grinter would score in the third quarter, carrying a sixteen point Pioneer advantage into the final quarter.
Kadence Livers opened the fourth quarter with a three-pointer, but Earlham would make a short run to trim the lead down to seven with just under three minutes remaining, but
Riley Flinn's fourth and fifth three-pointers of the night, and a basket in the post from
Keaton Hall would complete the 67-56 win for the Pioneers.Â
Flinn led the Pioneers with 17 points, including five three-point field goals.
Chloe McKnight followed with nine points, along with eight points each from
Raegan Barrett and
Keaton Hall. Eleven Pioneers scored in the victory.Â
Transylvania returns to action at the Clive M. Beck Center on Friday, hosting Anderson for another HCAC match up with tip-off scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
