Bethany, W. Va. - The Transylvania men's lacrosse team turned in a dominant performance as 10 different Pioneers scored en route to a 20-1 victory over the Bethany College Bison Saturday afternoon at Bison Stadium.

The victory pushed the Pioneers' current win streak to eight games, the longest such stretch in program history.

The Pioneers' offense was led by a pair of hat tricks from senior attackers Zach Roby and Clark Watts, and a three-assist performance from freshman attacker Trenton Sneed.

Freshman midfielder Kris Stone turned in the best performance of his career, as he scored his first two career goals, assisted on two goals, and scooped up five groundballs.

Transylvania came out looking to take control of the game early as the Pioneers outshot the Bison 20-2, with seven different Pioneers scoring in the first 15 minutes of action.

The second quarter followed a similar narrative, as five Pioneers combined to push the halftime lead to 12-0 in favor of Transylvania.

The second half saw head coach Terry Justice go to his bench, as numerous reserves saw extending playing time. The next line of Pioneers defense continued to hold strong as the Bison were only able to score once, while the Pioneers offense continued to roll throughout the second half, pushing the final score to 20-1.

Transylvania was a perfect 20-for-20 on clearance attempts on the day. The Pioneers also collected a staggering 45 groundballs compared to only 19 for the Bison.

Freshman long stick midfielder T.J. Toivonen led the Pioneers' defensive attack, as he forced three turnovers and scooped up seven ground balls in the victory.

Transylvania goalkeeper Cooper Fogle continued his majestic senior season, as he recorded three saves without giving up a goal in thirty minutes of action before giving way to freshman Skylar Thompson in the second half.

With the win, Transylvania's record now moves to 8-4 overall, and 5-0 in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference play, good for a share of first place with just two games remaining in the regular season.

Up next, the Pioneers will return to Lexington for a showdown with the conference rival Hanover College Panthers on Tuesday night, April 25. The game is set for a 7:00 p.m. start at Pat Deacon Stadium.
