HCAC Names Isabella Myers Offensive Player of the Week

CARMEL, Ind. – The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) volleyball teams competed in week one of the 2025 season. Transylvania opened up the season with the 2025 Transy Invite. Isabella Myers tallied an outstanding 65 kills over the course of 4 games. Myers is currently averaging 16.25 kills per set and 4.64 kills per set.

Offensive Player of the Week:
Isabella Myers (Kevil, Ky.) Transylvania University | Outside Hitter | Senior - The Pioneers hosted their opening invitational, this weekend featuring four games to start the season. In a 3-1 loss to Wartburg, Myers recorded 26 kills. In a 0-3 loss to Berry, Myers added 6 kills. In a 3-1 thrilling victory against Wittenberg, Isabella Myers totaled 16 kills. In the final game of the weekend against Olivet, Myers tallied 17. Isabella Myers led the Pioneers in every game and totaled 65 (16.25 per game) kills in opening weekend.

Defensive Player of the Week:
Lyndsey Stephenson (Blue Ash, Ohio) Mount St. Joseph University | Libero | Sophomore - Sophomore libero Lyndsey Stephenson helped the Lions to a 3-1 weekend at the Great Lakes Crossover event. Over four matches and 13 sets she had 81 digs (6.23 per set).

Offensive
  • Blythe Young (Avon, Ind.) Anderson University | Setter | Sophomore - Blythe Young dished out 8.27 assists per set as Anderson went 2-1 on the week.
  • Nashali Garcia (Naguabo, Puerto Rico) Berea College | Middle Blocker | Sophomore - Nashali Garcia, a sophomore middle blocker from Naguabo, PR, was a key force for the Mountaineers' offense during the opening weekend. She recorded 22 kills and 9 blocks while posting a .321 hitting percentage.
  • Jenna Woods (DeGraff, Ohio) Bluffton University | Right Side Hitter | Senior - Woods had a superb weekend at Washington University in St. Louis, piling up 44 kills (3.14 KPS) while hitting at an outstanding .242 clip against great competition. She also picked up six digs. Woods hit .375 with 10 kills and just one error in a tight three-set loss to WashU. The senior smashed 15 kills against Webster and 14 against Willamette.
  • Piatt Addison (Fort Myers, Fla.) Earlham College | Outside Hitter | Sophomore - Addison Piatt set new career highs in digs and kills over the weekend at Illinois Wesleyan. The sophomore totaled 41 kills (2.93 kills/set) with a .226 attack percentage and six blocks. She also added 62 digs and four aces.
  • Avery Ball (Decatur, Ind.) Manchester University | Outside Hitter | Senior – In two games on Friday, August 29, Ball totaled 29 kills and 5 service aces. 14 kills and 2 service aces came against Heidelberg, while 15 kills and 3 service aces came against SUNY Brockport.
  • Sydney Doty (Mariemont, Ohio) Mount St. Joseph University | Middle Blocker | Sophomore – Lions sophomore middle was outstanding helping the team to a 3-1 record in the Great Lakes Crossover event! Over four matches and 13 sets she had 34 kills and an out standing .438 hitting percentage, committing only 6 errors on 64 attempts.
  • Carlson Greta (Austin, Texas) Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology | Outside Hitter | First Year – Carlson Greta was a key contributor as the Fightin' Engineers went undefeated on their opening weekend, defeating Eureka 3-0, Augustana 3-1, and North Central 3-1. Greta was named an All-Tournament selection at the Lady Blues Challenge hosted by Illinois College. Greta led the team with 39 kills and an impressive 3.55 kills per set across the three matches. Her career-high 22 kills against North Central ranks 11th in school history for most kills in a single match, missing out on the top 10 by one kill.

  • Taylor Bock (Columbia City, Ind.) Anderson University | Middle Hitter | First Year - Taylor Bock recorded 0.64 blocks per sets as Anderson went 2-1 on the week.
  • Amelie Cora (Rio Grande, Puerto Rico) Berea College | Libero | Senior - Amelie Cora, a senior libero from Rio Grande, PR, led the Mountaineers' defense this weekend with 62 digs, averaging 3.75 per set. She recorded 18 digs and 2 service aces in the team's five-set victory over Brevard, while continuing to provide steady defensive play throughout the weekend.
  • Emma Organ (Lambertville, Mich.) Bluffton University | Libero | Senior - Organ was outstanding as Bluffton went 2-2 against stellar competition at Washington University (Mo.) over the weekend. She picked up 62 digs (4.43 DPS) while firing three service aces. Organ finished with 19 digs in a four-set loss to Carthage and 18 pickups in a four-set win over Willamette. She also had 67 receptions against just one receiving error.
  • Madison Bizjak (San Diego, Calif.) Earlham College | Libero | Junior - Maddison Bizjak posted 82 digs (5.86Digs/set) during Earlham's opening-weekend tournament at Illinois Wesleyan over the weekend.
  • Tiffany Watterson (Elkhart, Ind.) Manchester University | Defensive Specialist | Junior - In two games on Friday, August 29, Watterson totaled 46 digs on the defensive side. Watterson posted a team-high 25 digs in game one against Heidelberg and again posted a game-high 21 digs in game two against SUNY Brockport.
  • Lily Ebright (Wichita, Kan.) Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology | Defensive Specialist | Senior - Lily Ebright helped lead the Fightin' Engineers on defense in their undefeated weekend at the Lady Blues Challenge hosted by Illinois College. The team won all three matches, defeating Eureka 3-0, Augustana 3-1, and North Central 3-1. Ebright led the team, recording 58 digs and 5.27 digs per set across the three contests. Ebright was named an All-tournament selection for her efforts.
  • Julia Brown (Bardstown, Ky.) Transylvania University | Libero | Sophomore - In the four game opening home stand, Julia Brown was a strong defense presence for the Pioneers. In the 3-1 loss against Wartburg, she led the team with 15 digs. In the 3-0 loss to Berry, Brown once again led the team with 19 digs. In the victory against Wittenberg, Julia totaled 24 digs. Against the University of Olivet, Brown tallied 12 digs. After the four games of opening weekend, Julia Brown has totaled 70 (17.5 per game) digs.
