For the Third Time, Riley Flinn Wins HCAC Athlete of the Week

CARMEL, Ind. – The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) women's basketball teams competed in week 11 of the 2025-26 season. After Riley Flinns performances against Earlham and Anderson, Flinn earns her third Athlete of the Week honors. 
 
Athlete of the Week:
Riley Flinn (Remington, Ind.) Transylvania University | Guard | Junior - Riley Flinn led Transylvania in a 67-56 win at Earlham. She scored 17 points and grabbed five rebounds in the victory. In Friday's 74-55 win over Anderson, Flinn posted a double-double with 20 points and 10 rebounds. She knocked down five three-point field goals in each victory.

Notable Performances:
  • Victoria Detraz (Valparaiso, Ind.) Anderson University | Forward | Junior - Victoria Detraz powered to averages of 12.5 points, 13.5 rebounds, and 4.0 blocks per game. Detraz notched 13 points, 15 rebounds, and four blocks against Franklin. She then produced 12 points, 12 rebounds, and four blocks against Transylvania.
  • Madison Howell (Berea, Ky.) Berea College | Forward | Senior - Madison Howell played a huge role in both conference wins for Berea. She recorded 24 points and 11 rebounds in the win against Hanover and eight points and 11 rebounds in the win against Rose-Hulman.
  • Karlie Niekamp (Tipp City, Ohio) Bluffton University | Forward | Freshman - Karlie Niekamp led Bluffton to a 1-1 record in Heartland Conference action this week, including a 57-51 victory over Hanover on Saturday that secured Bluffton's first sweep of the Panthers since 2017-18. She scored 12.5 points per game on 11-for-24 shooting from the field and pulled down 6.5 rebounds per game. Niekamp finished the week with two assists and two blocks.
  • Payton Seay (Carmel, Ind.) Franklin College | Forward | Junior - Payton Seay extended her streak of double-digit scoring games to six with a strong week on the road for league-leading Franklin. She totaled 21 points, eight rebounds, three assists, and four steals in a victory at Earlham and added 13 points, seven boards, and four assists at Anderson.
  • Alexis Wines (Lebanon, Ind.) Hanover College | Guard | Senior - Alexis Wines led Hanover as they took on both Berea and Bluffton. The senior led the way against Berea with 20 points, including four three-pointers. At Bluffton, she had 12 points with four assists.
  • Karlee Mills (Fairfield, Ohio) Mount St. Joseph University | Guard | Senior – Karlee Mills led the Lions to a 2-0 week with wins over Bluffton and Manchester. For the week the senior averaged 17.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 2.0 steals, while shooting 43 percent from three-point range.
  • Katelyn Fennell (Terre Haute, Ind.) Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology | Guard | Sophomore - Katelyn Fennell led Rose-Hulman to a 1-1 record where they defeated Manchester, 67-62, and lost to Berea, 68-51. She averaged 16.0 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 1.5 steals, and 1.0 blocks per game. Fennell also shot 11-for-24 from the floor, 5-for-12 from three, and 5-for-5 at the free throw line.
