The In Memoriam Award was given to "Petey" Powell, whoseaffiliation with the University spanned almost 70 years. Powellplayed basketball and baseball as a student and joinedTransylvania's board of trustees in 1939. As a board member, hefocused on athletics, becoming a friend and mentor toTransylvania's coaches. Powell received the 1964 MorrisonMedallion.
