Mark Turner ’77 was Transylvania’s headwomen’s basketball coach for 18 seasons between 1987 and2005. He is the winningest coach in the program’s historywith an overall record of 312-175. He posted 16 winning seasons andthe 1996-97 team advanced to the NAIA national tournament for thefirst time in school history. He was named Heartland ConferenceCoach of the Year in 2003. He also coached the women’s golfteam and was named HCAC Coach of the Year in 2008, when he guidedthe team to the NCAA Tournament for the first time.
