Leslie E. “Sonny” Voyles Jr. ’63 was afour-year letterman in basketball during his Transylvaniacollegiate career. He scored 1,017 career points, which rankedfifth in school history when he graduated. He was the male PioneerAthlete of the Year in 1963 and was named to the NAIA All-Americanhonorable mention team. As a senior, he played on thefirst Transylvania team to qualify for a nationaltournament.
