Elizabeth Boyd Fryar ’81 was a member of theTransylvania tennis team for four years, earning varsity lettersafter each season. The Lexington native was the team’s mostvaluable player in 1979 and 1981, competing in the regionaltournament in Williamsburg, Va., in 1979. Her parents, Mel andJanice Boyd are both Transylvania graduates from the Class of 1958.Mel was inducted into the Pioneer Hall of Fame in 1995.
