Maria Paglialungo ’71 played both women’sbasketball and field hockey at Transylvania and is still widelyconsidered one of the top female athletes to wear crimson andwhite. A prolific scorer, she poured in a career-high 48 points ina win over Midway during her freshman season. She netted 36 pointson three occasions as a senior, when she led the Pioneers to a 9-1record, which included wins over Centre, Kentucky State,Louisville, Midway, Spalding, Kentucky, and EasternKentucky.
