Latarika “Tari” Young is one of the most prolific scorers and all-time performers for the Transylvania women’s basketball program.

A native Lexingtonian who was a standout girls’ basketball player at Bryan Station High School, Young excelled in her four years with the Pioneers, becoming the sixth all-time leading scorer in Transylvania women’s basketball program history with 1,586 points.

In her senior campaign of 2002-2003, Young led the Pioneers to a 21-3 overall record, including a 13-game winning streak. As a junior and senior, Young was selected to the All-HCAC Team (2002, 2003).

Young went on to a career with Lexmark International Inc. in Lexington, first with an internship while a student at Transylvania and later became a Development Firmware Manager at Lexmark. Young also obtained an MBA at the University of Kentucky and has become a respected leader in the worlds of business and the Lexington community.
