Alpha Jo Scott Luallen ’60 was a basketballstandout at Transylvania andwas also active in theintramural sports program. Shelater taught physical education and served as department chair inthe Daviess County (Ky.) school system and founded the girls’basketball program in 1974. She coached the girls’ basketballteam and, with the advent of Title IX, led the effort to elevatethe girls’ program to equal status with malesports.
